Are you someone who’s devoured every tantric, holy, and sacred sexuality book you could get your hands on? Perhaps you’re on the hunt for more cosmic sexuality material or exploring alternative ways to connect with your sensual self, like ecosexuality. If this is you, I GET IT. You’re searching for MORE in your sex and eroticism. You know that it could mean everything, it could fill every part of you, but you’re not exactly sure how to get there. We live in a world where our sexuality is often shrouded in shame and mixed messages. We’re told to be open and free, to have sex with whomever we want, whenever we want, without overthinking it. Yet, this same aspect of our lives is deeply tied to our most intimate relationships and if we get it wrong… it can break friendships, end marriages, and even leave us questioning our very identity. And the absolute cherry on top…We’re expected to know everything about sex without ever being allowed to talk about it openly. Many of us reach a point where we sense that something isn’t quite right with our sexual lives, but we have no idea where to start or what to even look for in the kind of support we need. Unlike other areas of our mental and emotional well-being, there seems to be this underlying pressure to handle our sexuality in a “cool” and “correct” way. Where cool = ready and willing to dive into the juiciest aspects of our eroticism, but what if you’re not there yet? What if you need more time, more exploration, more understanding? Does that make you a prude? Or simply someone in tune with their own pace?
“Pleasure is a measure of freedom, and moving at the pace of pleasure allows us to discover the rhythms that are most aligned with our bodies and souls. There is no rush, only the joyful unfolding of what is true for us.”
    — adrienne maree brown

Meet Elen of the Ways: The Goddess of Pathways, Sovereignty, and Inner GuidanceElen of the Ways is a mysterious and powerful figure from British and Celtic mythology, known as the guardian of the pathways. Often depicted as a stag-antlered goddess, Elen is associated with ancient trackways, the natural routes traveled by animals and people. She is a guide—someone who helps us navigate the landscapes of our lives, both physical and emotional, and encourages us to find our own path.In the context of sexual healing, Elen of the Ways invites us to reconnect with our own unique path to pleasure and authenticity. She reminds us that our journey is our own, that our desires are sacred, and that we must follow our inner compass to discover what truly brings us joy. The Myth of Elen of the Ways: Finding Your Own PathElen of the Ways is a figure shrouded in myth and legend. Some stories describe her as a goddess who guards the ancient trackways—pathways carved by migrating animals and travelers. These paths symbolize our inner journey, the roads we must travel to reach deeper understanding and connection with ourselves. In the context of sexual healing, Elen’s myth represents the importance of finding your own way. Society often tells us what our desires “should” look like, or how we “should” experience pleasure. These external pressures can cause us to feel lost, disconnected, or even ashamed of our true desires. Elen’s story reminds us that our path is ours alone—and it’s only by following our own inner guidance that we can find the true fulfillment we seek. Are you ready to honor the natural cycles of your sexuality? 3 Steps to Find Your Path to Pleasure with Elen of the Ways
    1. Follow Your Inner Compass: Discovering Your Unique DesiresElen is the guardian of pathways, encouraging us to follow the trackways that resonate most with us. The first step in working with Elen’s energy is to tune into your own inner compass and discover what truly brings you pleasure—free from external expectations or judgments. How to Discover Your Unique Desires:Tune Into Your Body: Spend time in a quiet space, connecting with your body. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and place your hands over your heart or womb space. Ask yourself, “What do I desire?” Allow your body to respond—whether it’s through a sensation, a vision, or a feeling.Journal About Your Desires: Write down what comes up for you without judgment. Let go of any thoughts of what you think you “should” desire, and instead focus on what feels authentic for you.Want to explore more ways to reconnect with your desires? Read the full blog on Astera’s Awakening here to learn how to embrace new beginnings and honor your unique pleasure path.2. Set Boundaries Along the Way: Honoring Your SovereigntyElen is also associated with sovereignty—the idea of being in control of your own path and your own body. As you navigate your journey to pleasure, it’s essential to set boundaries that honor your needs and desires. How to Honor Your Sovereignty:Define Your Boundaries: Reflect on what feels good and what doesn’t. Write down what boundaries you need to feel safe and respected—both with yourself and in relationships.Communicate Your Boundaries: Practice speaking your boundaries out loud, even if it’s just to yourself at first. The more you become comfortable expressing what you need, the more empowered you will feel on your journey.Want to learn more about setting boundaries and embracing your sovereignty? Read the blog on Brigid’s Sacred Flame here to explore how to rekindle your inner fire and stand in your power.3. Trust the Path: Embrace the Journey of ExplorationElen’s trackways are not straight—they twist, turn, and sometimes even double back. This reminds us that the journey to discovering our pleasure is not always straightforward, and that’s okay. The most important part of working with Elen’s energy is to trust the journey and embrace the exploration without needing to know exactly where it will lead. How to Embrace the Journey:Engage in Pleasure Practices: Set aside time each day to engage in a pleasure practice. This could be as simple as touching your body in a way that feels good, exploring a new type of movement, or indulging in sensory experiences like scent or taste.Release Expectations: Let go of the idea that there is a “right” way to experience pleasure. Each step on your path is valid, even if it feels uncertain or unfamiliar.

Ritual for Clearing Collective Sexual trauma

    Written By Nicole card
Ritual for Releasing the Baggage of Collective Sexual TraumaThis ritual is designed to help you consciously release the weight of collective sexual trauma that you may be carrying. It’s a practice of acknowledging the past, honoring your feelings, and letting go of what no longer serves you. Set aside a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed, and allow yourself the time and space to fully engage in this process. What You’ll Need:A quiet, safe space where you feel comfortableA candle (preferably white or black)A small bowl of waterA few stones or crystals (choose ones that feel grounding to you, such as black tourmaline, obsidian, or hematite)Pen and paperA small bowl of saltA comfortable seat or mat to sit onStep 1: Set Your SpaceFind a comfortable place to sit, either on the floor or in a chair. Arrange the stones or crystals around you in a circle. Place the candle in front of you, the bowl of water on your left, and the bowl of salt on your right. Light the candle, and take a few deep breaths to center yourself.Step 2: Grounding MeditationClose your eyes and take a deep breath in, then slowly exhale. Visualize roots growing from the base of your spine, reaching deep into the earth. Imagine these roots connecting you to the strength and stability of the ground below. Feel the energy of the earth rising up through these roots, grounding and supporting you.Step 3: Acknowledgment of Collective TraumaHold the stones or crystals in your hands and take a moment to acknowledge the collective sexual trauma that you’ve absorbed from society, culture, and history. You might say aloud or think to yourself:”I acknowledge the weight of collective sexual trauma that I carry. I recognize the pain, shame, and fear that have been passed down through generations. I honor the experiences of those who came before me, and I choose to release what is no longer mine to hold.”Step 4: Write and ReleaseTake the pen and paper, and begin to write down any thoughts, feelings, or memories that come up related to this collective trauma. Don’t censor yourself—let whatever needs to come out flow onto the paper. When you feel you’ve written everything down, hold the paper and say:”I release these burdens. I release the collective pain, shame, and fear. I choose to free myself from the weight of what no longer serves me.”Gently tear up the paper into small pieces and place them in the bowl of water. As the paper dissolves, imagine the trauma dissolving from your body and spirit.Step 5: Salt CleansingTake a pinch of salt and sprinkle it over the water. As you do, visualize the salt purifying the water and cleansing the energy in your space. Say:”With this salt, I cleanse and purify. I wash away the residue of collective trauma and welcome healing into my being.”Step 6: Final ReleaseBlow out the candle, signaling the end of the ritual. As the smoke rises, imagine any remaining fragments of collective trauma being carried away, leaving you lighter and more at peace. Sit for a few moments in silence, feeling the difference in your body and energy.Step 7: Ground and CloseTake another deep breath, feeling the connection to the earth beneath you. When you’re ready, gently shake out your hands and feet, symbolizing the release of any lingering tension or energy.Thank yourself for taking this time for your healing, and know that you can return to this ritual whenever you need to let go of the past and reclaim your power.

    What is Sexual Healing?
    Aug 28
    Written By Nicole card
Sexual healing—maybe it sounds like a Marvin Gaye song, maybe it feels a bit cringy for you, or maybe something mystical and out of reach. But in reality, it’s much more grounded and accessible than you might think. Sexual healing is about reclaiming your relationship with your body, your pleasure, and your sense of joy. Let’s dive into what that means, one little bit at a time.
Collective Sexual Trauma:The Baggage We Didn’t Know We Were Carrying
Let’s start with the big stuff—collective sexual trauma. Sounds heavy, right? But stay with me! This is about understanding that we’re all in this together. Collective sexual trauma refers to the ways society has shaped our views on sex and bodies, often in negative ways. It’s the stuff we’ve absorbed from culture, media, and even family traditions that tell us what’s “normal” or “acceptable.” The good news? Recognizing this is the first step toward letting it go. We can shake off these outdated beliefs and start embracing a healthier, happier view of sexuality.
“Collective healing is the process of remembering that we belong to each other, that our liberation is bound together, and that healing is both personal and collective work that transforms our world.”
    — Staci Haines
If you are looking for a way to clear collective sexual trauma, take a look at my blog: Ritual for Releasing Collective Sexual Trauma.
Acute Sexual Trauma: Navigating Personal Challenges
Now, onto something that might feel a little more challenging—acute sexual trauma. What I mean by this are those individual experiences that have impacted how we feel about sex and our bodies, no matter how “big” or “small” they may seem to others. They are those times where your no wasn’t fully listened to, when you were too young to advocate for yourself, and when someone took power over you.Remember, healing is not about erasing the past but about reclaiming your present and future. There’s no rush, and there’s no “right” way to do this—just your way.If you are looking for the perfect way to heal acute sexual trauma, take a look at our gentle and comprehensive quiz: What Season of Sexual Healing Are You In? It’s really difficult to know where to start on the road to sexual healing, give me a few of minutes and I’ll help guide you into a gentle new beginning.
How You Understand Your Body and Your Pleasure: The Fun Part
Understanding your body and your pleasure is where things get really exciting. This is the part of sexual healing where you get to explore, discover, and maybe even surprise yourself. It’s about tuning into what feels good for you—not what you’ve been told should feel good. The best part? This is a journey of self-discovery with no wrong turns. Whether it’s through self-care, experimentation, or just taking the time to listen to your body, this is your adventure, and it’s all about finding what lights you up.Find inspiration in your journey of sexual healing can really depend on where you are in your evolution of healing right now. Taking a deep dive into the season of healing you are organically inhabiting can give you a good place to start in finding exactly what feels great to you right now, what really and truly feels pleasurable, and what turns your maybe into a ‘HELL YES’. For example,
Quiz: What Season of Sexual Healing Are You In?Summers may benefit more from group activities, parties, workshops, and outward self expression. Falls are going to naturally look more towards preparing themselves for what they will deeply let go of in winter. They are naturally going to shed things, and start making a plan for their sexual healing hibernation so they can look much more deeply inward. Winters are nourished by quiet space, ample time for self reflection, and a deep dive into their sexual roots. Springs likely are playfully looking for outlets for their new budding energy, having finally blossomed from the roots through the earth, and finally to the sun from the work done in winter. If you’d like to find out what season you are, and get a little guidance are what kinds of things you may looooove doing for yourself and your eroticism right now, take our free quiz What Season of Sexual Healing Are You In?
Your Access to Joy: Reclaiming the Spark
Sexual healing isn’t just about what happens in the bedroom. It’s about feeling passionate about all aspects of your life. When you start healing sexually, you might notice that your passion for other things—hobbies, work, relationships—starts to grow too. That’s because sexual energy is creative energy. As you heal, you unlock more of that energy, and suddenly, everything feels more vibrant. Joy! —>It’s that spark, that feeling of being fully alive. And yes, it’s a huge part of sexual healing. Access to joy isn’t just about the big moments—it’s about the little ones too. It’s about feeling good in your skin, laughing out loud, and letting yourself feel pleasure without guilt or shame. Joy is your birthright, and sexual healing is about making sure you can tap into that joy whenever you need it. So go ahead, dance around your living room, eat that extra slice of cake, or take a long bath—whatever brings you joy is an essential part of your healing journey.Wrapping It Up & Taking a Step forwardsSexual healing is a journey—a fun, sometimes challenging, but always rewarding journey. It’s about shaking off old baggage, rediscovering what makes you feel good, and embracing joy and passion in every part of your life. So, what’s your next step? Maybe it’s exploring something new, maybe it’s connecting with others on this path, or maybe it’s just letting yourself be, exactly as you are, right now. Whatever it is, remember—sexual healing is for you, and it’s here to help you shine.

So, you’ve found yourself wondering about the whole “innie vs. outie vagina” thing. Maybe you’re curious if your anatomy is normal, or perhaps you’ve stumbled across some not-so-helpful advice that’s got you second-guessing yourself. Let’s clear some things up.Anatomy: Inner and Outer Petals (Labia Minora and Majora)Labia majora and labia minora (inner and outer petals)

First things first, let’s get the terminology straight. You’ve got your labia majora (outer lips) and labia minora (inner lips). The labia majora are the outer folds that, in theory (patriarchal, outdated, sex-shaming theory, that is), are supposed to cover the more delicate labia minora. In fact, it’s entirely normal—and quite common—for your inner petals to extend beyond the outer petals. If this sounds like you, congratulations, you’re part of the outie club! And guess what? There’s nothing wrong with that.labia majorA < labia minorA = outie vagina

(patriarchy, misoginy, body shame… that’s what in the name) The terms “labia majora” and “labia minora” come from Latin, with “labia” meaning “lips,” “majora” meaning “greater,” and “minora” meaning “smaller.” The use of Latin in medical terminology became widespread during the Renaissance period, when scholars and physicians sought to standardize the language of science across Europe. It’s important to note that these terms reflect a period when male anatomists were predominantly responsible for documenting and naming female anatomy, often with a focus on comparison to male anatomy. This historical context can help explain why the terms might not fully capture the diversity and complexity of female genitalia, leading to discussions today about the language we use to describe our bodies. The reality is—the labia majora (the outer petals), ARE NOT ANATOMICALLY SUPPOSED TO BE COVERING the labia minora (the inner petals). There is no anatomically correct shape or size of the lips of the vulva.
    The Vulva Gallery
Our vulvas are AS DIVERSE AS OUR FACES. SOMEHOW these anatomical terms persist despite not reflecting the reality of our bodies.vagina ≠ SheathThe term “vagina” itself also comes from Latin, where it originally meant “sheath” or “scabbard,” as in the sheath for a sword. This term began to be used in the anatomical sense in the 17th century, again reflecting a male-centric perspective, where the vagina was metaphorically compared to a sheath, simply a vessel for the penis. This analogy underscores how language has often centered on the idea of penetration, which is limiting and offensive. Despite these historical biases, the term “vagina” has persisted in medical language, though modern discussions increasingly critique and re-evaluate the words we use to describe our bodies.

The vagina, on the other hand, is the internal canal that leads from the vulva to the cervix. So, if we’re being precise (and we should be), we should really be talking about “innie” and “outie” vulvas.

Is it normal to have an outie vagina?
Let’s address the whole “innie” versus “outie” debate that often pops up in conversations about vulvas. These terms are casually used to describe the appearance of the labia, but they’ve also contributed to some unnecessary confusion and body image issues. So, let’s break it down.An “innie” typically refers to a vulva where the labia minora (inner petals) are largely covered by the labia majora (outer petals), giving a more tucked-in appearance. On the flip side, an “outie” describes a vulva where the labia minora extend beyond the labia majora, making them more visible. Here’s the thing: whether you’ve got an “innie” or an “outtie” (or something in between), it’s all perfectly normal. There’s a strange, pervasive expectation that the inner labia should always be smaller and neatly hidden away, while the outer labia should be the ones doing all the covering. But in reality, vulvas come in all shapes and sizes, and there’s no “correct” way for them to look.If you’ve ever Googled “innie and outie vagina,” you’ve probably noticed that your search results are a bit… disappointing. You’re either getting medical sites diagnosing things that probably don’t need diagnosing, or plastic surgery ads suggesting you “fix” what was never broken to begin with. Spoiler alert: your vulva is fine just the way it is.Sometimes the inner petals are larger, sometimes the outer petals are more pronounced, and often, one side doesn’t perfectly match the other. It’s asymmetry at its finest. And just like no one expects you to have a perfectly symmetrical face, no one should expect your vulva to conform to some cookie-cutter standard. If you’ve ever felt self-conscious about having an “outie,” or wondered if your “innie” is somehow more “right,” consider this your official permission to let that go.Your vulva’s appearance is as unique as your fingerprint, and it’s a beautiful reflection of who you are. Whether your petals are tucked in, peeking out, or somewhere in between, they’re just as they should be. Forget the myths, ditch the unrealistic expectations, and embrace your vulva for what it is—a perfectly normal and uniquely you part of your body.

The Pleasure Principle: What’s in a Petal? Now, let’s talk about pleasure. One of the lesser-known facts about our anatomy is that the tissues making up the labia and the vagina are made from the same embryonic tissue as the penis. Yep, that’s right. It’s all the same stuff, just arranged differently.
The labia majora are the fleshy folds that protect the more sensitive areas underneath. They’re filled with fat and can be quite sensitive to touch, just like certain areas of the penis. The labia minora, on the other hand, are even more sensitive. They’re thinner, with a rich supply of nerve endings, making them highly responsive to stimulation—similar to the head of the penis. The pleasure potential of your petals is enormous. And if we are stuck worrying about innie versus outie vulva, we are missing the orgasmic potential our bodies have been begging for.Rather than seeing your beautiful lips as just some flaps of skin, recognize them for what they are: beautiful petals of mystery and sexiness and feeling-goodness.Celebrating Your Vulva: Resources for Real RepresentationIf you’re looking to see some real-world examples of how diverse vulvas can be, there are a few excellent resources out there. The Great Wall of Vulva is an art installation that features casts of real vulvas, showcasing the incredible variety that exists. It’s a refreshing counterpoint to the often-unrealistic depictions we see in media.Another great resource is The Vulva Gallery, an online project that features illustrations of vulvas along with personal stories. It’s a beautiful way to see how unique and varied our bodies are, and a reminder that your vulva is exactly how it should be—perfectly you.Final Thoughts: Embrace Your PetalsYour vulva is as unique as your fingerprint. Whether you’ve got an “innie,” an “outtie,” or something in between, it’s all normal and beautiful. Forget the myths, ditch the unrealistic expectations, and embrace your petals for what they are—a beautiful, diverse, and integral part of your body.So the next time you’re looking in the mirror or getting up close and personal with a partner, remember: you’re more like a rose or a tulip than a factory-made product. And that’s something to celebrate.

His energy embodies the power of the sun—revealing what is hidden, shining warmth where there was coldness, and illuminating our truth. Apollo’s association with music and the arts also connects him to creative self-expression, which is essential in reclaiming our authentic selves, especially after experiences that cause shame or trauma. In the realm of sexual healing, Apollo’s light can help us face and dissolve the shadows of shame and reclaim our authentic pleasure. Whether it’s releasing societal conditioning, letting go of the fear of expressing our desires, or simply wanting to feel more at home in our bodies, Apollo’s story offers guidance for moving into a space of truth, warmth, and pleasure.

Apollo’s Myth: Bringing Light to the ShadowsApollo’s mythology revolves around the themes of illumination, healing, and speaking one’s truth. He is a deity who brings light to dark places, representing both the literal and metaphorical power of the sun. Apollo’s temple at Delphi was known for its prophetic oracles, where those seeking truth would come to hear messages from the divine. In the context of sexual healing, Apollo’s myth represents the act of shining light on sexual shame and repressed desires. Many of us have grown up in environments where sex and pleasure were surrounded by taboos, judgment, and silence. This darkness often leads to feelings of shame, disconnection from the body, and a fear of embracing our true desires.Apollo’s energy invites us to bring these shadows into the light—to speak our truth, to let go of the conditioning that keeps us in fear, and to embrace our authentic selves with warmth and acceptance.Ready to step into the light and let go of shame? Download “Eight Seasonal Magic Rituals for Sexual Healing” and begin your journey of transformation today.
3 Steps to Heal Sexual Shame and Reclaim Pleasure with Apollo’s Guidance
    1. Shine Light on Your Shadows: Identifying Sexual ShameThe first step in working with Apollo’s energy is to shine light on the shadows—to identify and acknowledge the sources of sexual shame or repression. This requires honesty, courage, and a willingness to look at the beliefs and experiences that have been kept hidden. How to Shine Light on Sexual Shame:Write It Down: Take some time to reflect on any shame, fears, or limiting beliefs you hold around sex and pleasure. Write them down in a journal. These could be beliefs such as “I am not allowed to desire this” or “My body is not good enough.”Speak It Aloud: Find a safe space where you can say these beliefs out loud. By giving voice to these thoughts, you are bringing them into the light. It could be in a trusted circle, with a therapist, or even in front of a mirror.Want to explore more ways to release sexual shame? Read the full blog on Inanna’s Descent here to learn how her journey can guide you in shedding layers of shame.2. Embrace Your Truth: Reclaiming Your Authentic DesiresOnce you have identified the shadows, the next step is to embrace your truth. Apollo’s energy is about self-expression and honesty—about reclaiming the parts of ourselves that we have hidden out of fear of judgment. How to Embrace Your Truth:Affirm Your Desires: Write down what you truly desire, without censoring yourself. This could include how you wish to express your sexuality, what types of touch you crave, or the fantasies you hold. Apollo’s light is about authenticity—embrace these desires as part of who you are.Create an Expression Ritual: Use creative expression to bring your desires to life. This could mean dancing in a way that makes you feel sensual, painting or drawing what pleasure feels like to you, or writing a poem that celebrates your body and its sensations.Want to learn more about self-expression and embracing your desires? Read the blog on Brigid’s Sacred Flame here to discover how creative energy can help rekindle your inner fire.3. Warmth and Healing: Bringing Pleasure into the BodyApollo’s light is also about warmth—about bringing a sense of comfort, healing, and pleasure into the body. For many people, sexual wounds can cause a disconnect from the physical body, making it difficult to experience pleasure fully. By inviting warmth and gentleness, you can begin to reconnect with your physical sensations. How to Bring Pleasure into the Body:Sunlight Meditation: Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably in direct sunlight (or visualize sunlight if this isn’t possible). Close your eyes and imagine Apollo’s light warming your skin. Allow this warmth to flow through your entire body, releasing tension and inviting a sense of relaxation and pleasure.Self-Massage: Use warm oil to gently massage your body, paying particular attention to areas that may hold tension or numbness. As you do this, imagine Apollo’s light entering your body through your hands, bringing warmth, healing, and connection.

Free Checklist: Essential Tips to Build Your Sex Positive Community💋📝Creating a sex-positive community is a powerful way to foster a culture of consent, body celebration, and sexual freedom. Such communities provide a space where people can openly explore their sexuality, express their desires, and connect with others who share similar values. Here’s a guide to help you build your own sex-positive community. What is a Sex-Positive Community?A sex-positive community is one where members “come out as sexual beings,” acknowledging their bodies, sex, and pleasure as integral parts of life. These communities are founded on principles of consent, respect, and inclusivity. They are places where individuals can feel safe to explore their sexuality without judgment, engage in open conversations about sex, and celebrate the diversity of sexual expression. What a Sex-Positive Community is NotIt’s important to clarify that sex-positive communities are not about:Nudity all the time: Comfort is key, and nudity should never be a requirement, especially if it makes someone uncomfortable.Non-consensual touching or comments: Consent is the foundation of any interaction within a sex-positive space.Pressuring members to have more sex: Sex positivity does not equate to having frequent sex. It’s about having the freedom to choose when, how, and with whom to engage in sexual activities.Using sex as therapy: While sex can be a healing experience, it should not replace professional therapy for psychological issues. Sex is complex and carries its own set of emotional dynamics.A healthy sex-positive community encourages open dialogue about boundaries, consent, and mutual respect. It is a space where members can explore their sexual identities safely and with the support of others who respect their limits.Free Checklist: Essential Tips to Build Your Sex Positive Community💋📝Examples of Sex-Positive CommunitiesThere are numerous sex-positive communities around the world, each with its own unique culture and practices. Here are a few notable ones:Vermilion (Facebook Group): A vibrant community that emphasizes consent, gentle presence, and the celebration of pleasure. Members share experiences, support each other’s journeys, and foster a culture of respect and kindness. This one I can personally vouch for and is a lovely space to dip your toe into sex positivity. Bonobo Network (San Francisco): This community offers both real-world and virtual events where people can learn about sexuality, pleasure, and relationships. It is known for its commitment to inclusivity, consent, and creating supportive environments. The Parallel Universe (Europe): Based in Vienna, this community organizes festivals, workshops, and events that prioritize safer sex practices, consent, and body positivity. It’s a space to explore desires, connection, and artistic expression in a safe, inclusive environment.Crossbreed (London): A sex-positive rave and community space that champions inclusivity, particularly for marginalized queer individuals. Crossbreed is known for its strong emphasis on consent and creating a safe space for all attendees.Want to take the first steps towards YOUR sex++ safe space? Download my free checklist below.Free Checklist: Essential Tips to Build Your Sex Positive Community💋📝The American Context: Integrating Sexual FreedomIn the United States, sex-positive communities are relatively young, especially when considering the broader historical context of sexual freedom. The sex positive rhetoric in America can still feel like participating in or even discussing such communities is akin to illicit behavior. This sense of secrecy can prevent the full integration of sexual freedom into daily life. However, as these communities grow and become more visible, they are gradually shifting perceptions and helping individuals embrace their sexual identities more openly.Building Your Own Sex-Positive CommunityTo build a successful sex-positive community, consider the following steps:Establish Clear Values: Define your community’s principles, such as consent, respect, and inclusivity. Ensure these values are communicated clearly to all members.Create Safe Spaces: Whether physical or virtual, your community spaces should prioritize safety and comfort for all members. This includes clear guidelines on behavior, confidentiality, and consent.Promote Inclusivity: Welcome individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures. A diverse community enriches the experience for everyone.Educate and Empower: Offer workshops, discussions, and resources on topics like consent, sexual health, and communication. Empower members with knowledge and tools to navigate their sexuality safely.Foster Connection: Encourage open dialogue, shared experiences, and mutual support. Building strong connections between members strengthens the community and promotes a culture of empathy and understanding.By following these guidelines, you can create a sex-positive community that not only celebrates sexual freedom but also fosters a deeper understanding and respect for all members’ sexual identities.

The Power of Myth in HealingFor thousands of years, myths have been used to explain the mysteries of the world, provide comfort during times of hardship, and teach important life lessons. Myths aren’t just stories from the past—they are timeless guides that hold the keys to understanding our own human experiences, especially when it comes to healing deep wounds. In the realm of sexual healing, mythology offers a powerful framework for reclaiming your story, understanding your emotions, and finding a pathway back to empowerment. Whether it’s the journey of Inanna’s descent into the underworld, the nurturing energy of Brigid’s sacred flame, or the sensual awakening embodied by Astera, myths provide profound symbols that can guide us on our path to healing. If you’re struggling with feelings of disconnection, shame, or trauma, these ancient stories offer the wisdom and courage needed to face the shadows, rekindle your inner fire, and find new beginnings.
Are you ready to explore your healing journey through the power of myth? Download our guide: “Eight Seasonal Magic Rituals for Sexual Healing” and learn how to work with these ancient stories to transform your life.
Why Myth Matters for Sexual HealingSexual wounds are often complex, rooted in experiences of shame, trauma, or disconnection that can feel overwhelming to navigate alone. These wounds can make us feel isolated, disconnected from our bodies, and unable to fully experience pleasure or intimacy. This is where myth comes in. Myths are universal—they speak to the core of the human experience, and they remind us that we are not alone in our struggles. By using myth in the healing process, we can access powerful archetypes that reflect our own experiences and help us make sense of them. Myths allow us to step outside of our own pain and view it from a different perspective, which can be incredibly healing. For example, Inanna’s descent into the underworld can be seen as a metaphor for moving through the darkness of trauma to find light on the other side. It is a story of shedding layers of identity, facing the most vulnerable parts of oneself, and ultimately emerging reborn and empowered. (Read more about Inanna’s journey and how it relates to sexual healing here.)
Storytelling and Healing: “Eating in the Light of the Moon”
In her book, “Eating in the Light of the Moon,” author Anita Johnston uses myths and storytelling to help women understand and heal their relationships with food and their bodies. While this book primarily focuses on disordered eating, the stories and symbols used can also provide profound insights into sexual healing. One of the stories Johnston shares is about a young girl who finds herself lost in a dark forest. She feels scared and disoriented, unsure of which path to take. As she moves deeper into the forest, she encounters a wise old woman who gives her a lantern. The lantern doesn’t show the entire path ahead, but it provides enough light to take one step at a time. Slowly but surely, the girl finds her way out of the forest. This story is a beautiful metaphor for the journey of sexual healing. Often, the path to healing isn’t clear. It can feel overwhelming, like we’re lost in the dark. But by taking small steps, by finding small sources of light—whether it’s through therapy, support from loved ones, or working with myths—we can navigate our way out of the darkness.Ready to take your first step out of the darkness? Download “Eight Seasonal Magic Rituals for Sexual Healing” and let the power of myth light your way.3 Myths to Guide Your Sexual Healing Journey1. Inanna’s Descent: Facing the ShadowInanna, the Sumerian goddess of love and fertility, chooses to descend into the underworld to face her sister, Ereshkigal. Along the way, she passes through seven gates, each time surrendering something of great value—her crown, her jewels, her robes—until she stands completely bare.In the context of sexual healing, Inanna’s descent represents the journey of facing the shadows within us—the shame, fear, and pain we carry. It’s about surrendering the defenses we’ve built to protect ourselves and standing vulnerably before our deepest wounds. Only by facing these shadows can we experience true healing and transformation.Learn more about how Inanna’s story can guide your sexual healing here.2. Brigid’s Sacred Flame: Rekindling Your Inner FireBrigid, the Celtic goddess of fire and healing, is known for her eternal flame—a symbol of passion, creativity, and vitality. When we experience sexual wounds, our inner fire can feel dimmed or extinguished. Brigid’s story reminds us that our flame is never truly gone—it just needs to be tended, nurtured, and rekindled.Working with Brigid’s energy can help you reconnect with your body, rekindle your passion, and rediscover your capacity for pleasure.Want to rekindle your inner fire? Discover how Brigid’s sacred flame can guide your renewal here.3. Astera’s Awakening: Embracing New BeginningsAstera, the ancient Germanic goddess of spring, embodies the energy of renewal and new beginnings. Her presence at the spring equinox marks the time when the earth awakens from its winter slumber, and life begins anew. Astera’s story is about embracing the potential within ourselves, letting go of the heaviness of the past, and inviting in lightness, playfulness, and growth. If you’ve experienced sexual trauma or disconnection, working with Astera’s energy can help you embrace a fresh start and awaken your sensuality.Ready to awaken your sensuality and invite new beginnings? Learn more about Astera’s energy here. The Healing Power of Story: Reclaiming Your Own MythOne of the most powerful aspects of working with myth for sexual healing is the opportunity to reclaim your own story. When we experience trauma, it can feel like our story is taken from us—that we’re no longer the authors of our own lives. Myths remind us that we have the power to reclaim our narrative, to rewrite our story, and to find a new way forward.Identify Your Myth: Reflect on which myth resonates most with your healing journey right now. Is it Inanna’s descent, Brigid’s flame, or Astera’s awakening?Make It Your Own: Consider how you can apply the lessons of the myth to your own life. What do you need to let go of? How can you rekindle your inner fire? What new beginnings are you ready to embrace?Create Your Ritual: Rituals can be a powerful way to embody the lessons of a myth. Whether it’s lighting a candle to symbolize Brigid’s flame or planting seeds in honor of Astera, creating a personal ritual can help you connect more deeply with the myth and its healing energy.Ready to create your own healing ritual? Download “Eight Seasonal Magic Rituals for Sexual Healing” and start your journey of transformation today.Myths as Maps for HealingMyths are more than just stories—they are maps for healing, offering guidance, comfort, and hope. Whether you’re facing the darkness like Inanna, rekindling your inner fire like Brigid, or embracing new beginnings like Astera, these ancient tales hold the wisdom needed to navigate your healing journey.By using myths as a framework for healing, you can move beyond the pain of the past, reclaim your power, and step into a future filled with light, joy, and pleasure. Are you ready to reclaim your story and heal through the power of myth? In a world where feminist ideals encourage empowerment, sexual freedom, and autonomy, it’s easy to feel like you’re betraying those principles when you struggle with the idea of your husband watching porn. You might wonder: *Shouldn’t I be more open-minded?* *Is it anti-feminist to feel uncomfortable or insecure about this?* But here’s the truth—feeling uncomfortable with your husband watching porn doesn’t make you less of a feminist. It makes you human. This discomfort is about more than just feminism. It’s rooted in deeper layers of self-worth, trust, body image, and societal conditioning. The relationship between porn and intimate relationships is complex, and the feelings it brings up are valid, no matter how progressive your sexual values may be. Let’s explore why this discomfort doesn’t disqualify your feminism, while also recognizing the nuanced dynamics at play.Freebie Alert!!!Free Written Guide: Match MADE IN BED: How to Sync Up Your Desires & Turn Up the HEAT 🛏️🔥💋Instant DownloadLet’s Redefine Sexual Liberation – Your WayFeminism has long championed sexual freedom and body autonomy, pushing back against puritanical norms that once limited women’s agency over their own bodies and desires. Books like *Rethinking Sex* have challenged our cultural assumptions about what sexual liberation means, reminding us that empowerment doesn’t have to mean accepting everything without question. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that *true* sexual liberation means being unfazed by your partner watching porn. But true feminism isn’t about subscribing to any one narrative of what sex should be—it’s about having the freedom to define sex, desire, and boundaries for yourself. Just because mainstream feminist narratives often celebrate sexual openness doesn’t mean that your discomfort with porn is wrong. Feminism should give you the agency to express what does and doesn’t work for *you*, without fear of being labeled prudish or regressive. When Porn Feeds the Body Image BeastNaomi Wolf’s *The Beauty Myth* highlights how society bombards women with unrealistic beauty ideals, making us feel like we’re always falling short. Porn is no exception. The glossy, fantasy-driven portrayals of women often reinforce impossible standards of beauty and sexuality that can mess with how we see ourselves. If your partner’s porn consumption triggers body image insecurities or leads you into the comparison trap, this discomfort isn’t about being anti-porn—it’s about pushing back against societal forces that have conditioned women to see themselves as never enough. Feminism is about dismantling those harmful beauty standards and reclaiming our bodies as they are, without needing to measure up to an artificial ideal.Porn vs. Intimacy: The Clash of ConnectionNaomi Wolf, in her book *Vagina*, sheds light on how deeply women’s sexual desire is tied to emotional and spiritual connection. Porn, by its nature, often focuses on visual stimulation and fantasy, leaving little room for the kind of intimacy that many women crave in their relationships. If porn makes you feel like there’s a wedge between you and your partner—like it’s cheapening the emotional connection or reducing sex to a transactional act—you’re not being oversensitive. Feminism has long promoted the idea that sex should be about mutual respect, connection, and joy. Wanting those things in your relationship doesn’t make you less open-minded; it means you value a fuller spectrum of intimacy.Download the guide for free below and improve your intimacy with just 4 simple practices.Free Written Guide: Match MADE IN BED: How to Sync Up Your Desires & Turn Up the HEAT 🛏️🔥💋Instant DownloadFeminism is About Choice, Not ConformityHere’s the thing—feminism isn’t a monolith. It’s about freedom, agency, and choice. Just because certain parts of feminist culture champion sexual liberation in a way that embraces porn doesn’t mean you have to accept it if it doesn’t feel right for you. Your feminism can be as layered and complex as you are, and there’s no need to fit into one box.Feeling uncomfortable with your husband’s porn habit isn’t a betrayal of feminist values—it’s you advocating for your own needs and boundaries. And that’s the very essence of feminism: making choices that align with your personal truth, whether that’s accepting porn as part of your relationship or expressing that it doesn’t work for you.Having “The Talk”: The Art of Vulnerable ConversationsTalking to your husband about your feelings around porn might feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to turn into a confrontation. Instead, approach it from a place of curiosity and care. Share how his porn consumption makes you feel—whether that’s insecure, disconnected, or simply uncomfortable—without framing it as something he’s doing “wrong.”You may find that the real issue isn’t porn itself but what it represents to you, whether it’s about intimacy, body image, or trust. By opening up the conversation, you can work together to create a space where both your emotional and sexual needs are honored. Remember, this isn’t about being anti-sex or anti-porn; it’s about creating a partnership that feels supportive and aligned for both of you.Your Feminism, Your ChoiceAt the heart of it all, feminism is about empowerment—empowerment to make choices that reflect your authentic self. Feeling uncomfortable with porn doesn’t strip you of your feminist identity. It’s a valid, human response to a complex dynamic, and your emotional and sexual well-being deserve to be prioritized.
You don’t need to align with every narrative of sexual openness to be a feminist. You can be both feminist and uncomfortable with porn, and you can still have conversations that strengthen the trust, intimacy, and connection in your relationship. It’s all about honoring *your* truth.

Ooooo girl. I SO get it. This is a hard truth to admit, but, believe me, you’re not alone. I have worked with sooo many women that feel exactly the same way—you want to experience deep, intimate connection with your husband—emotionally and physically—but you find yourself blocked by something you can’t shake: the fact that he masturbates to other women. I’m sure reading it now even made your skin crawl just a little. In this blog we’ll uncover some of the layers beneath all of that ick feeling, and give you a solid way out. I’m here to tell ya—what you’re experiencing isn’t just about the act of masturbation itself; it’s about trust, desire, self-worth, and your sense of safety within the relationship. Sex is pretty much the watering hole for our deepest and darkest (and our shiniest and most enjoyable!) parts. So let’s break down some of the common emotions that are probably bubbling up for you, why they’re so difficult to navigate, and the reason they are giving you the ick:
    1. Feeling Like You’re Not Enough
When you discover that your partner is seeking pleasure outside of your intimate relationship—even if it’s through masturbation and fantasy—it can trigger deep feelings of inadequacy. Questions like “Am I not attractive enough?” or “Why does he need other women to get turned on?” might flood your mind. These thoughts can gnaw away at your self-esteem, making it hard to feel desirable in the bedroom. But here’s the truth: this isn’t about you not being enough. Many people, men and women alike, masturbate as an outlet for sexual release, fantasy, or stress relief. It doesn’t necessarily diminish their desire or love for their partner. However, understanding this logically doesn’t mean it’s easy to process emotionally.
    2. The Comparison Trap
Comparison is a thief of joy, especially when it comes to sexual relationships. If you know or imagine who your partner is fantasizing about, you might find yourself comparing your body, your sexual skills, or your desirability to someone else’s. And let’s be real, the people he’s fantasizing about are often the airbrushed, fantasy versions of women, not real people with real bodies. This comparison trap creates a disconnect between you and your own body. If you’re feeling insecure or uncomfortable, you’re less likely to feel sexually empowered or aroused when you’re with him. It becomes nearly impossible to reach orgasm because your mind is too busy critiquing your body or measuring yourself against some unattainable ideal.

You might feel too distracted by resentment, too insecure to let go, or too mistrustful to open up during sex. This can cause a spiral where your own orgasm feels even further out of reach. One way to reclaim your pleasure is to start focusing on you again. Reconnect with your body outside of the relationship. Rediscover what turns you on, what makes you feel sexy, and how you can meet your own sexual needs. When you own your pleasure, you’re less likely to feel dependent on your partner’s actions to feel sexually fulfilled.Remember, orgasms aren’t just about physical stimulation—they’re about feeling safe, seen, and desired. By focusing on your relationship with yourself, you can begin to strengthen your sense of self-worth and confidence, which may, in turn, help you heal this sexual disconnect with your partner.Communicate with VulnerabilityThe only way to truly resolve this issue is through open and vulnerable communication. It’s essential to talk to your husband about how his behavior makes you feel without turning it into an attack. You could start by expressing your feelings of hurt, insecurity, and how his actions are affecting your intimacy. Then, ask about his perspective—why does he choose to masturbate to other women? What does that mean for him? This is a chance for you both to explore your desires and fears in a safe, non-judgmental space.Remember, no one has a perfect sex life, and intimacy ebbs and flows within long-term relationships. You deserve to feel secure and fulfilled in your sexual connection with your husband, and that can only happen when you both are willing to listen and grow together. And finally… You Deserve PleasureBeing unable to orgasm because of something like this can feel like an impossible barrier, but you don’t have to face it alone or suffer in silence. The key to overcoming this roadblock lies in self-exploration, communication, and setting boundaries that help you feel safe, seen, and valued in your relationship.
