Women’s Holistic HEalth: a call to action

True women’s holistic health is way past yoni love, way past pelvic floor physical therapy, past empowerment workshops, and past gynecology or obstetrics care. I am talking about women caring for women. I am talking about your vagina as an integrated part of your beautiful body. What I want to see are women being armed with every bit of juicy information they can absorb about their yonis and their bodies. I want you to move far past unsatisfying sex, past scar tissue from your birth, way past resignation that sex is just painful and that’s the way it is, that you just live with urinary incontinence now and it’s okay because you love your baby. No more. You deserve worlds more. Our bodies were made to heal. They were made to feel vitality. They were made to have sex, and to fucking enjoy it. There is so much they don’t tell you in sex ed, at the gynecologist, at your OB/GYN during your pre- and post-natal visits, there’s so much we aren’t taught about how to relate to men and other romantic partners.  Women’s holistic health isn’t just the absence of pain, it isn’t just having “manageable” periods, or treating your chronic UTIs or yeast infections in a way that is constantly destroying your gut flora.  Holistic health is about… Fully inhabiting your body.Being able to fully express who you are in the way your body moves, the sex you have, how you touch yourself, and the touch you request from others. Feeling empowered by your bleed, your anatomy, your body shape and appearance, your pregnancy, your birth, your postpartum, and your life after postpartum. It is not a magical cure. It is learning how to be in your body, how to support, nurture and nurse your innate need and power to heal yourself.  My Vision For Us:Confidence when you look at yourself naked in the mirror.Love for those first drops of blood that come in your moon time.Knowing exactly what you need to change when that familiar discomfort creeps in when you are having sex.Seeing your maturing face, the lines surrounding your eyes and mouth, and loving every wrinkle and bulge.Clarity when you walk into the OBs office, and you know exactly what you’d like support with and what you wouldn’t. A peaceful and powerful pregnancy, despite all the noise. Feeling at home amongst other women, and a complete relinquishing of the disempowering habit of comparing yourself to others. Ease and flow in your romantic relationship, a give and take, a needing and wanting, and sex in your marriage that, even after years, feels new and satisfying.

(If you want to skip ahead, scroll down to the bottom for my Burned Book List)In the quiet sanctuary of my practice, as I listen to the narratives of women discovering the depths of their bodily autonomy, I’m reminded of the long, intricate history that has shaped their experiences. Their stories, filled with moments of awakening and frustration, compel me to delve into the rich tapestry of the women’s health movement—a history marked by struggle, resilience, and the enduring spirit of women fighting for recognition and respect within the medical world.Ancient Threads: The Original HealersOur story begins in an age where medicine was synonymous with herbs, chants, and the wise women who wielded them. These healers were not just midwives; they were the community’s conduit to wellness, intimately connected with the cycles of life and death. They held a revered status, for their knowledge was vast, spanning from childbirth to herbal remedies that cured ailments which modern medicine now scrambles to understand with technology. Yet, as the Renaissance bloomed and science began its ascent, these women were increasingly viewed with suspicion. The rise of a structured medical profession, dominated by men who viewed these healers’ practices as superstition, led to many being persecuted, their roles diminished to mere footnotes in medical history. The Enlightenment’s Shadow: The Medicalization of WomanhoodFast forward to the 19th century, an era awash with industrial progress and scientific discovery, yet darkened by a stark regression in women’s health autonomy. The Enlightenment brought about a surge in medical institutions, and with it, a cadre of male physicians who began to pathologize women’s bodies. Female life events like menstruation and menopause were medicalized and framed as ailments needing treatment. The burgeoning field of gynecology often treated women as mere subjects rather than participants in their care, leading to practices and procedures that were invasive and, at times, non-consensual. The echoes of these practices linger in the mistrust some of my clients still carry towards the medical establishment. The Roaring Voices: The Twentieth-Century ReclamationThe 20th century heralded a seismic shift with the advent of the women’s health movement, particularly during the socially transformative 1960s and 1970s. Women, increasingly educated and aware of their systemic disenfranchisement, began to demand a return to autonomy over their health. They established women-run clinics, where education was as crucial as treatment, and where the patient was also a student of her own body. They published pamphlets and books, sharing knowledge that had either been kept from them or cloaked in medical jargon. This period also saw the questioning of paternalistic medical practices and the birth of informed consent—a practice that empowers my clients today. The Contemporary Landscape: Addressing Medical PatriarchyToday, the echoes of historical struggles resonate as we confront a healthcare system still permeated by shades of medical patriarchy. Despite advances, women often report feeling marginalized within the very system meant to heal them. The term “medical patriarchy” describes an ongoing bias where medical practices and policies are often dictated by a male-dominated hierarchy, which sometimes overlooks or undervalues female experiences and bodies. In my practice, I see women who are tired of being treated as passive recipients of healthcare, rather than active, informed participants. They are seeking environments where their experiences and voices are respected and where their whole selves—physical, emotional, and spiritual—are considered in their care. The demand for a more integrated, respectful approach is growing, pushing against the remnants of a system that too often silences female voices and simplifies complex issues.what we can do nowAs we continue to stitch this vast historical quilt, we not only honor the legacy of those who came before us but also empower ourselves with the knowledge to advocate for a future where the healthcare system fully embraces the unique needs of women. This journey, rich with both shadows and light, is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience inherent in the quest for understanding and justice. Our work is far from done, but with each step forward, we reclaim a bit more of the respect and consideration that women’s health deserves.WE CAN START BY becoming deeply educated on the topic. I’ve created a list of resources I’ve found particularly useful in my and my client’s journey towards empowered health care. In a world where the profound truths of women’s health have often been silenced, akin to the historical echoes of book burnings, our reading list serves as a beacon of enlightenment. It’s a defiant stand against the unspoken and hidden history of the Western medical model, uncovering the layers of gender biases and systemic oversights. These books are not just pages of information; they’re torches illuminating the path to a deeper understanding of women’s health. They revive the lost narratives and empower you with knowledge that has been, for too long, kept in the shadows. By engaging with these transformative works, you’re not just reading; you’re reclaiming a legacy of wisdom. And your journey, ignited by each page, leads directly to the heart of our event, where, united with a community of like-minded women, you stand at the vanguard of a movement to reshape the landscape of women’s health.burned books list: Hidden Chapters of Women’s HealthBreasts: A Natural and Unnatural History by Florence Williams: This insightful book delves into the complex world of breasts from a biological, historical, and cultural standpoint. how to deal with an immature husband

You know that moment when your husband throws a tantrum over the WiFi being slow, or sulks because you didn’t laugh hard enough at his joke, and you’re sitting there thinking: “Am I married to a grown man or a moody teenager in a 40-year-old’s body?”Yeah. That.Because here’s the thing—living with an emotionally immature husband is not just annoying. It’s bone-deep exhausting. You’re carrying the mental load, smoothing over his rough edges, explaining basic emotional concepts like you’re a kindergarten teacher with a classroom of one. Meanwhile, he gets to skate by, blissfully unaware that you’re holding the relationship together with duct tape, patience, and caffeine. And let’s be real: you didn’t sign up to be his mother. You wanted a partner. But now you’re googling things like “how to deal with an immature man” and wondering if this is just what marriage is—or if there’s another way.Spoiler: there is. And it starts with actually naming what’s going on.
How Does an Emotionally Immature Man Act?
    (i.e. the pouty pup)
How Does an Emotionally Immature Man Act?You know the signs. You try to bring up something important, and suddenly you’re talking to a brick wall. Or worse—he’s pouting on the couch like you just told him Santa isn’t real (or like you’re not having sex again tonight). An emotionally immature man doesn’t always look dramatic on the surface. Sometimes it’s subtle little patterns that wear you down over time:The silent shutdown. You ask a real question, and instead of an answer, you get… crickets. The mood swing. One minute he’s fine, the next he’s slamming cabinet doors because you bought the “wrong” peanut butter. The deflection game. You point out something hurtful, and somehow the conversation ends up about your tone, your timing, or how “you always…”The escape hatch. Video games, phone scrolling, work, “just one more beer”—anything to not sit in the uncomfortable stuff. The courtroom defense. A simple “hey, can you help with the dishes?” somehow turns into him proving he’s actually the victim. If you’ve ever thought, “why does this feel like I’m living with a teenager instead of a husband?”—this is why. Emotional immaturity isn’t about age, it’s about how someone handles (or avoids) the real stuff of life. And no—you’re not crazy for noticing this. Most women in your shoes feel like they’re carrying the relationship alone, while their partner gets away with emotional bare minimums. It’s exhausting.

What Makes a Man Immature? Here’s the kicker: your husband didn’t just wake up one day and decide, “I think I’ll be emotionally stunted forever.” Immaturity usually has roots. And knowing those roots doesn’t excuse the behavior—but it can help you stop blaming yourself. Some of the biggest reasons men get stuck:They were never taught. A lot of boys grow up in homes where emotions were either shut down (“man up”) or blown up (anger, yelling). Nobody sat them down and modeled healthy conflict or vulnerability.Cultural conditioning. Our culture trains men to be providers and performers, not partners. They were taught to bring home a paycheck, not sit in their feelings or yours. They’ve been enabled. If every past relationship let him get away with shutting down, blaming, or avoiding, why would he suddenly learn better now?Unresolved stuff. Trauma, shame, or old wounds he’s never faced don’t just disappear. They resurface in your marriage—in the way he reacts, withdraws, or deflects. So if you’ve been wondering “what makes a man immature?”—it’s usually a cocktail of family patterns, cultural messaging, and his own unprocessed baggage. And here’s the part you need to hear: his immaturity is not a reflection of your worth, your effort, or your ability to “inspire” him to change. You didn’t cause this. Here’s the kicker: your husband didn’t just wake up one day and decide, “I think I’ll be emotionally stunted forever.” Emotional immaturity almost always has roots. And knowing those roots doesn’t excuse the behavior—but it can help you stop blaming yourself.1. Family Patterns Run DeepFor generations, boys were raised in homes where emotions were either shut down or blown up. Fathers who never modeled healthy vulnerability. Mothers who over-functioned, smoothing over everyone’s feelings. Little boys watched this dynamic and learned:vulnerability = weakness, accountability = punishment, women = emotional managers. That conditioning doesn’t vanish just because he grew facial hair or got married. Unless he’s actively unlearning it, he’s likely repeating it.2. Cultural Conditioning of MenThis part is important—and validating. Our culture trains men to be providers and performers, not partners. For decades, manhood has been measured by things like:Do you have a job?Can you financially provide?Do you look “strong”?Nowhere in that checklist is: Can you sit with your partner’s sadness without making it about you? or Can you have a vulnerable conversation without storming out?Even modern research backs this up. Psychologists call it “gender role strain.” Men feel pressure to meet outdated masculine roles while also being told to be sensitive and emotionally available—but no one gave them the tools to actually do that.3. Immaturity Is Often RewardedHere’s the part that makes you want to scream: for a long time, immaturity worked. If past partners mothered him, fixed his messes, or tolerated his shutdowns, why would he learn to change? Society even pats him on the back—“Boys will be boys,” “He’s just bad at feelings,” “At least he’s not cheating.” Immaturity has been normalized, so growth feels optional.4. Unresolved Trauma and ShameMany men carry wounds they’ve never looked at: bullying, neglect, rejection, even abuse. Instead of healing, they armored up. That armor—anger, avoidance, defensiveness—keeps him safe but also keeps him stuck. Emotional immaturity is often just unprocessed pain wearing a tough-guy mask.So if you’ve been wondering “what makes a man immature?”—it’s usually a cocktail of family patterns, cultural messaging, and unprocessed baggage. And here’s the part you really need to hear: his immaturity is not your fault. It’s not a reflection of your worth, your effort, or your ability to “inspire” him to grow. You didn’t cause this—and it’s not your job to fix it alone. Can an Emotionally Immature Man Change? Here’s the million-dollar question. You’ve probably googled it at 2am after another fight, whispering to yourself: “Can an emotionally immature man change? Or am I signing up for a lifetime of this?”The answer: yes, he can change—but only if he actually wants to.And here’s the nuance: growth isn’t just about “trying harder.” Emotional maturity requires rewiring years of habits, cultural conditioning, and defense mechanisms. It’s a process—not a personality switch you can flip overnight. What Real Change RequiresFor a man to grow into maturity, a few things need to happen:Awareness. He has to see himself clearly. This often comes after a wake-up call—losing a relationship, hitting rock bottom, or finally realizing the cost of his behavior. Without awareness, everything else collapses.Willingness. He has to want to change for himself, not just to “make you happy” or end the fight. Motivation rooted in fear or appeasement won’t last.Humility. This is huge. He has to let go of the fragile ego that makes him defensive and start saying things like, “You’re right, I didn’t handle that well.” Without humility, awareness turns into excuses.Consistency. Growth isn’t sexy. It’s showing up over and over: therapy sessions, journaling, practicing emotional regulation instead of blowing up, listening instead of shutting down. One book or one couples retreat isn’t enough.Support. He needs mirrors outside of you—therapists, men’s groups, mentors, emotionally mature friends. Expecting you alone to be the container for his growth puts you right back in the mother/teacher role you’re trying to escape. What It Doesn’t Mean for YouThis is the trap so many women fall into: believing they can “inspire” or “love him into” maturity. You can’t. If he changes only when you nag, coach, or rescue him, he hasn’t actually grown—he’s just outsourcing emotional labor to you. That’s not maturity. And here’s the harder truth: every time you pick up the slack, over-function, or explain things to him like he’s a child, you accidentally reinforce the very dynamic you’re desperate to break. Why Some Men Do Change—and Others Don’tSome men truly rise to the occasion. They confront their family patterns, unlearn toxic conditioning, and step into partnership with depth and care. And when they do? The relationship feels like oxygen after years of holding your breath.Others stay stuck. They double down on avoidance, blaming, or defensiveness. Not because you failed, but because maturity requires surrendering control—and not everyone is willing to go there.A Reframe That Might HelpInstead of asking only, “Can an emotionally immature man change?”—also ask, “What’s my timeline? What’s my cost?”How long am I willing to wait? What am I giving up in the meantime? What am I modeling for my children by tolerating this?Because while change is possible, you can’t put your life on hold hoping for his “someday.”So yes, change is possible. But it’s not about your effort—it’s about his choice. Your job isn’t to drag him into adulthood. Your job is to decide if the man in front of you is willing to do the work, or if you’re done carrying the whole relationship on your back.
How to communicate with an emotionally immature man
How to Communicate With an Emotionally Immature ManIf you’ve ever tried to open your heart to your husband and felt it bounce off a wall, you know the disorienting frustration of living with emotional immaturity. You reach for connection, and instead of being met, you get withdrawal, defensiveness, or a sudden change of subject. It can feel like rejection, like he doesn’t care. But often, what’s really happening is that he simply doesn’t have the tools.
“For generations, men weren’t raised to practice emotional fluency. They were told to “man up,” to push their feelings down, to keep moving. ”
    — Nicole
For generations, men weren’t raised to practice emotional fluency. They were told to “man up,” to push their feelings down, to keep moving. Vulnerability was painted as weakness, intimacy as something women needed and men tolerated. The result? Many husbands arrive in adulthood fluent in providing, fixing, or distracting — but almost illiterate in naming feelings, sitting with discomfort, or co-regulating in conflict. So when you try to communicate, it isn’t that he doesn’t love you. It’s that he’s standing there with a toolbox missing half the tools. And it’s maddening, because you can see how the missing tools are wrecking your intimacy, while he may not even realize they’re gone. This doesn’t mean you should shrink yourself or carry his part of the conversation forever. But it does mean that communication isn’t about “finding the right words to finally break through.” It’s about recognizing the context: you are speaking into a system that trained him not to listen in this way. That shift — from “he won’t” to “he hasn’t learned to” — can soften the edge. It doesn’t excuse the exhaustion you feel, but it gives you perspective: you’re not crazy, and you’re not failing. You’re trying to have adult partnership with someone who may still be growing into it.The question then becomes: can he step toward you? Can he tolerate the discomfort of hearing hard truths without bolting or blaming? Can he begin to see you not as his critic or his mother, but as his equal — someone longing for real union?Communication with an emotionally immature man is less about perfect phrasing and more about cultivating a different ground. Sometimes that means giving space instead of pushing. Sometimes it means naming the pattern instead of defending yourself against it. Sometimes it means refusing to carry both halves of the conversation, not as punishment, but as an act of dignity. Most of all, it means holding the paradox: you deserve to be met, and he may not know how yet. That gap between your longing and his capacity is painful — but naming it honestly is the first step toward either growing together or realizing you can’t keep walking the bridge alone.Imagine this instead…                 you finally work up the courage to tell him how lonely you’ve been feeling. You’re hoping he’ll put his arm around you, or at least say, “I get it, I’ve been distant.” Instead, he shifts in his seat, sighs, and says, “You’re overthinking again.”In that moment, it feels like a door slamming shut. You offered him your heart, and he handed it back wrapped in dismissal. And yet — if you could peel back the layers, what’s happening inside him is less cruelty and more panic. He hears your longing as criticism. He’s terrified of failing you, and instead of staying with that discomfort, his defenses take over. Withdrawal, minimization, or a quick joke become his escape hatches. It doesn’t make the moment hurt less. But it explains why the two of you keep missing each other. You’re speaking the language of intimacy; he’s still speaking the language of survival. The hope is this: when you can see the fear underneath his shutdown, you stop taking it as proof that you’re too much or that love is gone. You begin to see it as a skill gap — one that he can grow through if he’s willing. That perspective doesn’t erase your pain, but it creates just enough space for curiosity, compassion, and the possibility of a different kind of union. It’s all in the micro-moments…    Picture this: you tell him, “I feel like I’m the only one carrying the weight of this house.”In the old pattern, he stiffens. His jaw tightens, and out comes the familiar: “I work hard too, you know.” Within seconds, you’re no longer talking about your loneliness — you’re defending yourself against his defensiveness. The real conversation disappears, replaced by a tug-of-war neither of you actually wants. But then there are glimpses — small, fragile — of something different. In a moment of growth, he pauses. He doesn’t say much, maybe just: “Okay, I hear you.” His voice is shaky, his eyes dart away, but he hasn’t bolted. And for the first time, you feel the door stay cracked open. It’s not a Hollywood-level breakthrough. But it’s presence. It’s a tiny act of maturity. Those small shifts — a breath instead of a shutdown, a sentence of acknowledgment instead of a counterattack — are what communication looks like when immaturity starts giving way to growth. They don’t erase the years of exhaustion, but they show you what’s possible if he chooses to keep building the muscle. And that’s the real difference: not perfection, not sudden eloquence, but the willingness to stay in the room with you, even when it’s uncomfortable.
    How to get closer
Building Toward Real UnionLiving with an emotionally immature husband can feel like running a marathon while carrying both of your backpacks. It’s heavy, it’s lonely, and sometimes it feels endless. But here’s the deeper truth: his immaturity is not proof that you’re unlovable, nor is it proof that intimacy is out of reach. It’s evidence of how unevenly our culture has prepared men and women for partnership.
“Here’s the deeper truth: his immaturity is not proof that you’re unlovable, nor is it proof that intimacy is out of reach. It’s evidence of how unevenly our culture has prepared men and women for partnership.”
    — Nicole
You’ve been handed fluency in the language of feelings, while he was handed silence, stoicism, or distraction. You were taught to tend, while he was taught to push through. No wonder the conversations between you sometimes feel like two radios tuned to different stations. The question isn’t just, “Can he change?” The question is, “Is he willing to step into the work of adulthood — to learn, to stay, to meet me here?” Because communication and intimacy aren’t about perfect words. They’re about presence. About the courage to remain in the room when it would be easier to bolt. About the slow, imperfect building of trust where both people can stand side by side, instead of one carrying the other. And here’s where your power lies: you get to name the truth of your experience. You get to stop mothering him, stop twisting yourself into knots trying to be “easier to hear,” and instead stand in the clarity of what you need. From that place, it becomes unmistakably clear whether he is willing to grow with you — or whether you’ve already outgrown the dynamic you’re in.That clarity is where real union begins. Not the fantasy of a perfect husband, not the exhaustion of carrying both sides, but the honest possibility of two people meeting as adults — or the freedom of choosing not to settle for less.

Yoni Steaming: A Sexological Bodyworker’s Take on Boosting Your Sex LifeHey there! As a sexological bodyworker, I’ve got the scoop on all kinds of holistic practices that promise to spice up your sex life. Today, let’s chat about one that’s been getting a lot of buzz: yoni steaming. You might have heard some mixed things about it, and sure, it’s got its critics, but when done right, yoni steaming can be a pretty neat addition to your sexual wellness toolkit. What’s Yoni Steaming All About?First off, yoni steaming is like a spa day for your vagina. You sit over a pot of steamy water infused with a mix of medicinal herbs. It’s a tradition that’s been around in various cultures for centuries, aimed at nurturing the female reproductive system. The warm steam and herbal goodness are believed to soothe and tone the vaginal tissues. Can It Really Improve Your Sex Life?So here’s the deal: the whole experience of yoni steaming is super relaxing. Imagine unwinding with that gentle warmth—it’s a great way to melt away the tension down there. Since stress can really throw a wrench in your sexual desire and pleasure, just getting relaxed might make things more enjoyable when you hit the sheets.Another perk is the boost in blood flow. More blood circulating to your pelvic area can ramp up sensitivity and may even lead to more intense orgasms. Who wouldn’t want that, right? Plus, some folks find that they have better natural lubrication after steaming, which is a big win if dryness has been a buzzkill for you. There’s also an emotional angle to consider. Yoni steaming feels like a ritual, a moment to focus on yourself and heal. For anyone who’s had a rough go with sexual discomfort or trauma, having a dedicated time to care for your body in such a gentle way can be really powerful.Benefits for Sexual Health & happiness Relaxation and Stress Reduction: The warmth of the steam is profoundly relaxing and can help reduce tension in the pelvic region. Stress and tension often inhibit sexual desire and pleasure, so by alleviating these, yoni steaming can indirectly enhance your sexual experience.Increased Circulation: Enhanced blood flow is one of the primary benefits touted by advocates of yoni steaming. Increased circulation to the pelvic area can lead to heightened sensitivity and potentially stronger orgasms.Natural Lubrication: Some women report increased natural lubrication after regular yoni steaming sessions, which can be a game-changer for those dealing with vaginal dryness, often a barrier to enjoyable and pain-free sex.Emotional Healing: On a more holistic level, yoni steaming can be seen as a ritual of self-care and self-love. It provides a space for emotional release and healing, particularly for those who have experienced trauma or discomfort associated with their sexual organs.Tips for Safe SteamingIf you’re thinking about giving yoni steaming a go, here are a few tips to keep it safe and enjoyable:Talk to a Pro: It’s wise to chat with a healthcare provider or someone trained in sexological bodywork first. They can help you figure out if yoni steaming is a good fit for you and how to do it safely.Mind the Herbs: The choice of herbs matters. Common picks include mugwort, rosemary, and lavender, but it’s all about what your body needs. Pick herbs that suit your health profile.Watch the Heat: Make sure the steam feels warm and comfy. Too hot can be harmful, so let’s keep it gentle.Ease Into It: Start with short sessions and see how your body reacts. You don’t want to overdo it, especially at first.Yoni steaming isn’t a magic bullet, but it’s got some pretty neat benefits that might just make your sex life a little sweeter. It’s all about tuning into your body and treating it with a little extra TLC. So, if you’re curious, why not give it a try? Just go slow, listen to your body, and enjoy the journey to greater sexual wellness.how to startGet yourself a steam chair. This is the one I recommend. Find the right blend for you. This will depend on your goals—lengthening your cycle, shortening, increasing blood, decreasing, help with chronic health issues such as UTIs or yeast infections, bringing on a period. Set up a ceremonial space for your steams to happen.

(If you’d like to skip ahead to the FULL PACKING LIST FOR THE SEXY AND FREE TRAVELER scroll down to the bottom. It’s totally free!)Hey there, pleasure ambassadors! I know you’re ready to jet-set around the world with your beautiful self, and you are psyched about taking your newly liberated yoni with you. Oh the adventures you two are going to have as we move into the hot and steamy months of the summer season… Whether you’re off to explore bustling cities of Europe, lounging on exotic beaches, or hiking the moist jungles of western India, traveling 🤠with a vagina brings its own set of challenges. But fear not, ladies and female bodied-hotties, I’ve got you covered with some real talk and helpful tips to keep you feeling your best while adventuring. The More You Know: UTIs and TravelingLet’s dive right in—we all know that the more sex you have (especially when it’s been a while—no shame!), the more likely you are to get a UTI and/or yeast infection. Nothing kills the vibe faster than that burning sensation when you pee, or incessant itching down there. It’ll zap your sex energy AND your adventure energy. What’s a girl to do?Tip: Stay hydrated like it’s your job. Drink plenty of water, and keep cranberry supplements in your travel kit. Also, make sure to pee after sex. It might not sound glamorous, but it’s essential for flushing out any bacteria. Keep in mind that antibiotics (even if you are taking them for a UTI) have a tendency to cause yeast infections because they throw off the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract and your yoni. Whenever you take an antibiotic while traveling (and forevermore), make sure you are also taking a probiotic with it (antibiotic first, probiotic a few hours later).Period Problems on the GoManaging your bleed while on the move can be a real challenge, especially for those female bodied people out there that typically do a pretty good job moving with the flow of their cycle. Sometimes you can’t plan your trip around your period, and you find yourself dragging your suitcase on day one of your bleed. Ugh!Tip: Pack a variety of menstrual products—period panties, tampons, pads, menstrual cups, whatever makes you comfortable. Remember that things that are reusable are going to be a challenge if you are doing all of your laundry at a laundromat. It’s OK to use the disposable stuff while you’re on the go. Don’t forget your herbal pain relievers and a disposable heating pads. I really love a bit of clary sage oil on my womb when I’m bleeding. And pro tip: dark-colored clothing can be a lifesaver for those days that you’re bleeding but not REEAALLY bleeding. You might want to explore free-bleeding a little while you’re on vacation. Intentionally pack some black leggings you are good to throw away after your adventures. Navigating One-Night Stands AbroadIf you’re hooking up with a local hottie, there’s always that underlying fear, and it’s especially hard to have the safer sex talk. Tip: Whenever possible, bring them back to your place. Set up a pleasure-positive environment beforehand with your friends so you can relax and enjoy yourself without the awkward morning-after shame stares from your roomies. Think mood lighting, your favorite lube, a comfy space, and super honest convos with your friends about boundaries, expectations, and support. Hygiene Hacks for the Adventurous SoulWhether you’re in a committed relationship or enjoying spontaneous encounters, cleanliness is key. Tempted to get handsy in the heat of the moment on the medieval castle on the hill? DO IT! but first… Tip: Wash your hands before getting intimate, or at least use hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available. Your delicate lady parts will thank you for not exposing them to the grime of the city streets or the moist rainforest trails. Remember the UTIs we talked about earlier??FREE Packing List for the SexY AND FREE TravelerIf you’d like my FULL PACKING LIST, snag it here. It’s totally FREE. Happy travels, gorgeous! 🌍💖

In the intricate dance of intimacy, society often prescribes an easy-to follow, safe, and linear narrative. A script where steps are meticulously choreographed, and moments follow a predictable rhythm. The story begins to unravel the moment that our bodies do the unspeakable– they behave in organic, unpredictable, and spontaneous ways. In the face of:Performance anxiety (male and female)Body Image issues during intimacyBoredom and lack of excitement in the bedroomWe can allow for the meaning of sex to venture outside of the heteronormative, boring, predictable, and limited ol’ penis-in-vagina (PIV) after 5-10 minutes of “foreplay”, ending with an (often unsatisfying) conclusion to what feels like an incomplete and thin narrative arch. This doesn’t have to be our story. When we embrace a wider definition of sex that expands beyond the same old script we were given as hetero males and females, we find what gender nonconforming folks have been grappling with since the dawn of time… The story of your pleasure was never meant to be written by someone else. This is a book best made by you, yourself, your vibrator, and your favorite (pH appropriate) oil. It may feel like good news to the female bodied people out there, to hear that we have nothing but a possibility-filled blank page to play with after we toss the double sided blade of the aggression-based, feeling-less layers of masculinity we’ve come to expect from our partners in sex. The empowerment we gain from being rid of the helpless, still, and opinionless female lying in bed waiting for something unsatisfying to happen to her is so incredibly worth the harder work we must then do to find what pleasure actually looks like for us. When we allow these outdated, harmful, and pleasure-squashing pieces to fall away, we can rediscover the limitless intricacies of our female bodies again, loving their complexity and taking full advantage of the variety of pleasures our bodies were literally created to feel. To the male bodied people, I hope it comes as a relief to learn that the script to perform as an instantly-hard, always ready, easy and simple to please man can (and should, in my opinion), be broken. Your pleasure, my dears, is actually just as varied and dynamic as ours. I am convinced that the reason so many men suffer with ED is simply because what we are calling a “dysfunction” is simply the male body responding as non-linearly as the female body does to sex. None of us were made to be machines. Embrace the awkwardness that comes with novelty, with the unexpected, with complete acceptance of your body as it is here and now. Summer sensuality: embracing the erotic mother & fertility of the season

As we step into the warmth and vibrancy of summer, it’s an ideal time to explore the concept of summer sensuality. Summer is a season where nature is at its peak, life slows down, and the days are long and languid. This season, heavy with the promise of new beginnings and growth, mirrors the nurturing energy of the Mother archetype. The Mother embodies the essence of summer – she is the caregiver, the nurturer, and the source of life. Just as the earth is pregnant with the bounty of the coming harvest and the cattle in the fields await calving, midsummer focuses on nurturing new life both in the ground and in human and animal wombs. The Mother archetype resonates with the slow, deliberate pace of summer, where every moment is savored, and the nurturing of new life is at the forefront. In our story, we see the Mother surrounded by the Virgin, the Maiden, and the Crone, each offering their unique support and love. This tapestry of care and connection mirrors the summer’s nurturing energy, where the sun’s warmth and the earth’s fertility create a haven for growth and intimacy. The mother storyThe Virgin and the Maiden made their way up to the Mother’s womb sanctuary, weaving a tapestry with threads of care and connection. The Virgin, with a pot of warm oatmeal in hand, ascended the stairs, the comforting aroma of fennel and rosemary trailing behind her. She entered the room quietly, her eyes filled with the silent strength that characterized her self-sufficiency. The Maiden, adorned with bright, wine-colored pendants, followed closely, carrying a bottle of body oil infused with the essence of nourishing herbs. Her intention was clear – to offer the Mother a daily womb massage, a ritual of self-love and care. As they entered, the room bathed in the soft glow of sunlight, they found the Mother cradling her newborn, an image of serene beauty. Meanwhile, the Crone, wise and weathered, chose to remain outside in the warmth of the sun, her presence a silent acknowledgment of the cyclical nature of life. The Mother, though physically within the confines of her room, felt the supportive threads extending beyond, knowing that the Crone’s wisdom lingered just beyond the threshold, a source of strength in the natural embrace of the outdoors. In the quiet sanctuary of her bedroom, the Mother reclined, cradling her newborn against her chest. The air was filled with a sense of tranquility as the other three women, the Virgin, the Maiden, and the Crone, gathered around her, offering support and love. She had never spread her net so widely before, fanning her roots to gather an abundance of minerals and nutrients from the ground, her lover, her sisters, and the land. The energy, calories, breath, and nourishing flowing in and out of her were at a higher volume than ever before. Yet, she knew that all of life’s experiences, the words from her mothers, and the affection from her loved ones had more than adequately prepared her for this moment. As she lay there, she tested her head, allowing her mother’s milk to flow from her nipples and into her skin. She felt the warmth of the sun on her eyelids, a gentle caress that mirrored the love surrounding her. The room was filled with a harmonious symphony of quiet murmurs, soothing lullabies, and the occasional laughter shared among the women. She reflected on how her life had slowed leading up to her birth. The movement in her womb, breasts, ligaments, and connective tissue quickened, and the community members picked up tasks as her efforts became focused on creating life. The other women, men, and community members were like a supportive tapestry, weaving threads of care around her.The Virgin, with her self-sufficiency and completeness, prepared nutrient-rich meals that nurtured the Mother’s recovery. The Maiden, in her radiant embodiment of self-love and awareness, offered a comforting touch and nourishing food. The Crone, with her accumulated wisdom, provided guidance and reassurance as the Mother navigated the challenges of early motherhood. In this sacred space, the Mother found solace and strength. The room, filled with the essence of life and love, became a cocoon of support where she could heal and bond with her newborn. As the women surrounded her, each embodying a different aspect of womanhood, the Mother felt the interconnectedness of their experiences and the beauty of a community united in the celebration of life.
In the warmth of summer, we embrace the erotic energy of the Mother, celebrating the fertility of the season and the sensual connection to our natural selves.
Embrace Your Summer SensualityAs we embrace the energy of summer, let us draw inspiration from the Mother archetype and her nurturing essence. This season, take the time to slow down, savor each moment, and nurture the intimate connections in your life. Whether it’s through self-care rituals, spending time in nature, or simply being present with your loved ones, let the warmth and abundance of summer enhance your sensuality.Change your intimacy with my top 4 exercises. You find yourself an hour outside the city, surrounded by the serene beauty of an eco-lodge. Just far enough from your normal life, you feel the spaciousness of the air around you, an expansive calm that fills your lungs with every breath. Your partner stands beside you, both of you new to sacred sexuality, excitement mingling with the tender edges of fear. The possibility of self-discovery feels thrilling, yet the unknown stirs a gentle apprehension within. As you take in your surroundings, you try to ground yourself. The earth beneath your feet feels solid and reassuring, the sun’s warmth on your cheeks a comforting touch. You’ve had countless conversations with your partner about boundaries, desires, and wishes. Yet, despite all the preparations, there’s a sense of not being completely ready for the experience that lies ahead.Navigating this new terrain can feel overwhelming, but embracing a few guiding principles can help you cultivate a fulfilling retreat experience. Here are some gentle guidelines to help you make the most of your journey into sacred sexuality:Listen to Your Body’s Wisdom: Picture your body as a wise old tree, deeply rooted yet sensitive to the winds of change. Your body is your greatest guide, offering subtle cues and whispers of what it needs. Whether you feel drawn to dive into a practice with enthusiasm or simply observe from the sidelines, let your body’s needs dictate your participation. Sitting out is not a sign of disinterest; it’s a powerful form of engagement that allows you to connect with yourself in stillness, observing the vibrant energy around you. This practice of listening to your body deepens your relationship with intimacy, opening new doors to pleasure.Move at Your Own Pace: Envision a river flowing gently, its currents unhurried and mindful. In the retreat, it’s easy to feel pressured to push boundaries or dive into numerous activities, especially given the limited time frame of a weekend. However, like the river, allow yourself to flow at your own pace. Introduce new practices gradually, giving your body the time it needs to assimilate each experience fully. Your body thrives on novelty when it’s introduced slowly, much like a flower unfurling its petals one by one, revealing its beauty in its own time.Honor Consent and Choice: Think of a garden, where every plant and flower has its own space to grow and thrive. In group settings, fostering a true culture of consent in a short period can be challenging. Be clear about setting your own container, trusting that it’s okay to step back or adjust your participation whenever needed. Not every invitation needs to be accepted—honor your boundaries and know that the retreat is meant to empower you, not pressure you. Your choices are the nurturing elements that allow you to flourish.Create Your Own Playground: Imagine the retreat as a vast playground, a space where you can explore, experiment, and grow at your own pace. If something doesn’t align with your heart, see it as an opportunity to reflect, pause, and move in a different direction. The goal is to have a joyful experience that feels true to who you are, where every moment is a dance with your desires and boundaries. This playground is yours to navigate, a sacred space for your personal journey of discovery.By embracing these principles, you can unlock the pleasure and connection that the retreat promises. Each step, each breath, brings you closer to a deeper understanding of yourself and your desires. As the sun shines brighter and the days grow longer, summer invites us to bare our skin and embrace the natural textures of our bodies. One of the most beautiful aspects of our bodies is often the most scrutinized – our body hair. This summer, take the opportunity to play around with body hair as a symbol of sensuality, self-acceptance, and connection to nature.Body Hair: Nature’s EmbraceThink of the textures in nature – the rough bark of a tree, the soft fields of grass, the lush foliage of summer. Our body hair is no different. It is a natural extension of ourselves, echoing the diverse textures found in the natural world. Just as we appreciate the unique beauty of a tree’s bark or the varying textures of the earth, we should honor and appreciate the natural growth of our body hair. The Sensual Role of Body HairBody hair serves several important purposes, both anatomically and sensually:Protection: Body hair provides a layer of protection for our skin, much like the grass protects the earth. It helps to regulate our body temperature and offers a barrier against external elements.Pheromone Transmission: Body hair plays a crucial role in the transmission of pheromones, which are chemical signals involved in attraction and bonding. Pheromones travel through body hair, enhancing our natural scents and contributing to our sensual and intimate experiences.Sensitivity: The hair follicles are connected to nerve endings, which enhance our tactile sensations. The presence of body hair can increase our sensitivity to touch, making intimate moments even more pleasurable.A Historical Perspective on Body HairThe trend towards hairlessness is a relatively recent phenomenon. Historically, body hair was often seen as a sign of maturity and sensuality. In ancient civilizations, such as Greece and Rome, body hair was largely accepted and even celebrated. It wasn’t until the early 20th century that the fashion industry and advertising began to promote hairlessness as the beauty standard. This shift was driven more by marketing strategies than by genuine aesthetic or health concerns.Embracing Body Hair with ConfidenceCelebrate Your Natural Beauty: Embrace your body hair as a beautiful, natural part of who you are. It is an expression of your individuality and connection to nature.Focus on Sensuality: Pay attention to how body hair enhances your sensual experiences. Notice the increased sensitivity and the way your natural scents are amplified, adding depth to your intimate moments.
Our body hair is a natural extension of ourselves, a beautiful reminder of our connection to nature.

Scent-sual Summer: Celebrating the Natural Aromas of Our Bodies

As the sun reaches its zenith and the days stretch out in golden warmth, summer brings with it a rich tapestry of scents that evoke a deep, primal connection to nature. This season, let’s embrace the natural scents of our bodies and recognize their sensual beauty, much like we do with the aromas of the earth around us.Imagine the scent of the damp earth after a summer rain – rich, musky, and alive with the promise of growth. This is the aroma of nature in its purest form, a reminder of the fertility and life that the earth sustains. Similarly, our bodies, with their unique scents, tell the story of our own natural vitality and sensuality. The scent of our skin, the natural fragrance of a yoni, and the muskiness after an afternoon of lovemaking are as natural and beautiful as the earth itself. In the heart of a tropical forest, the air is thick with the scent of greenery, warmed by the sun. It’s a heady mix of life and heat, much like the intimate moments we share during the sultry days of summer. The warmth of our bodies, the gentle sweat that forms as we move through the day, these are signs of life and love, of passion and connection. After a summer storm, the world is washed clean, and the air is filled with the fresh, invigorating scent of rain. This moment of renewal is akin to the fresh, slightly salty scent of our bodies after a swim in the ocean or a shower, a reminder of our connection to the water that sustains us.Picture the sweetness that lingers outside an ice cream shop on a hot summer day – a blend of sugar and cream that delights the senses and brings a smile. This is how we should feel about our own natural scents – sweet, delightful, and integral to our experience of pleasure. The scent of sex, mingling with the heat of the afternoon, is a powerful, intoxicating blend of pheromones and passion. It’s a testament to our innate sensuality and the beauty of our bodies in their most natural state. Just as we cherish the scent of blooming flowers and fresh-cut grass, we should honor and celebrate the natural fragrances that our bodies produce.Embracing our natural body scents is an act of self-love and acceptance. It’s about recognizing that we are a part of the natural world, and our bodies, with their unique aromas, are a beautiful expression of life and sensuality. This summer, let’s celebrate our natural scents, much like we celebrate the rich, earthy, and vibrant smells of the season.
Embrace the natural symphony of your body’s scents this summer, celebrating each aroma as a beautiful testament to your sensuality and connection with nature.
Tips for Embracing Natural Body ScentsFocus on Sensation, Not Image: Shift your attention from how you look to how you feel. This can be incredibly liberating when you feel like you’re battling your body. Embrace the sensations of summer – the warmth of the sun on your skin, the breeze in your hair, and the natural scent of your body as part of the season’s sensory experience.Use Natural Scents to Enhance Sensuality: Instead of worrying about covering up, use natural scents that make you feel more sensual. Essential oils work with your body’s natural chemistry to provide symptomatic relief rather than just cosmetic cover. They can help you relax and feel even more connected to your body.Listen to Your Body: When your body produces more perspiration, it’s often a sign of stress. Take it as a cue to slow down and give yourself the rest you need. Your body’s natural processes are there to help you, so honor them by taking care of yourself.Celebrate Your Unique Aroma: Every person’s scent is unique and a part of their identity. Celebrate your body’s natural aroma as a beautiful expression of who you are. Your scent is a signature of your presence and individuality.Create Rituals of Self-Love: Incorporate rituals that celebrate your body and its natural scents. A warm bath with a few drops of your favorite essential oil, a gentle self-massage, or simply sitting in the sun and breathing deeply can all help you appreciate and embrace your natural fragrance.Stay Present and Mindful: Practice mindfulness to stay present in the moment and appreciate the natural rhythms and scents of your body. Mindfulness can help you connect more deeply with your body and reduce any anxiety about its natural processes.Connect with Nature: Spend time outdoors to connect with the natural world. The scents of the earth, plants, and flowers can help you feel more grounded and in tune with your own natural aroma. Let nature remind you that all scents are part of the beautiful tapestry of life.To receive regular sex positive content, make sure to sign up for my newsletter Pleasure Positive Periodical in time for our sensual summer series. #sexpositivesummer
